This recipe was the one used by my mother and enjoyed by the whole family. A tried and true classic!
INGREDIENTS:
2 eggs
1C sugar
1C self raising flour (or ordinary, with 1tsp baking powder)
2oz butter or margarine
1/2C milk
METHOD:
Whisk eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Fold in sifted flour. Heat milk and butter together and pour over other ingredients. Mix. Pour into two greased sandwich tins. Bake 12-15 minutes at 180 degrees.
FLAVOURS:
Coffee: add 2tsp of coffee to milk and butter
Chocolate: add 2tsp of cocoa to flour
